Work to Date

LearnPhilanthropy is growing iteratively, involving partners, prospective users, and other stakeholders at every stage. Here are some key milestones from our work to date:

2009:Four working groups were assembled to dig deeply into content issues and develop recommendations. See the reports, and the players involved, from four different work groups that explored and described the knowledge grantmakers need, surveyed learners in foundations, worked with learning providers to understand their needs and resources, and considered the central issues in creating a technology platform for any system.

July,2010:75 stakeholders came together at the Learn Philanthropy Symposium in Chicago, which shaped the vision for the effort. You can read the Symposium Report.

November,2010 —April 2011:LearnPhilanthropy developed a “proof of concept” or pilot of a searchable catalogue, conducted a series of conversations about learning needs, and worked to build the LearnPhilanthropy community. Read more about our Learning and Experimentation Phase.
